Dr. James Davis, CEO for our consulting firm, was recently named Executive Director of NCMLE.  NCMLE is one of the state’s most popular organizations which advocates for middle school students, teachers, and administrators.  The organization supports the middle school concept and has connections to the National Forum to Accelerate Middle Grades Reform.

Mary Newsome, a professional development leader with Professional Development Squared is currently the co-founder of a non-profit high school and middle school after-school program called TRIBE.  TRIBE  focuses on the social and emotional intelligences all while treating academic literacy gaps.  Mrs. Newsome is the author of the curriculum used in the TRIBE program.  


Dr. James Davis, CEO for our consulting firm, recently participated as part of a panel with the Delegation of Administrators from the Ministry of Education with the People’s Republic of China.  Dr. Davis showcased educational requirements and innovative practices showcased on the Coastal Carolina University Campus.  It was an enjoyable week and Dr. Davis was able to spotlight many of the effective things happening at CCU!

Dr. James Davis, CEO for our consulting firm, recently presented twice, at the National AMLE Conference.  The conference was held in Philadelphia and Dr. Davis presented with the National Forum to Accelerate Middle Grades Reform and also presented on School Transformation.  Both sessions were heavily attended. 

Mary Newsome, a professional development leader with Professional Development Squared  is involved in the National Forum Grant, titled “SEED.”  She currently serves as the Math Coach in North Carolina and partners with the Institute for Excellence in Education (Michigan) to implement a program called FIM, Focused Instructional Model.  


Suzan Lambert, a professional development leader with Professional Development Squared is involved in the National Forum Grant, titled “SEED.”  She currently serves as the ELA Coach in North Carolina and partners with the Dr. Kate Kinsella and Theresa Hancock (California) to implement a program called AVT, Academic Vocabulary Toolkit. 


Dr. James Davis, CEO for our consulting firm, recently had a series of articles accepted for publication with AMLE.  The article included:  “Eight Ways to Balance Work, Life, and Wellness for Teachers,” “Assessing Assessments,” “Making it Work, Making it Meaningful,” and “Innovative Teaching Strategies that Improve Student Engagement.”  AMLE is a leader with national support for Middle Grades Education. 

Dr. Jane Bowser, Technology Director for our consulting firm, is working with the Thomasville City Schools on the implementation of the Gradual Release Method for teaching science. She is also working with the Institute for Student Achievement on supporting schools in Forsyth County.


Dr. James Davis, CEO for our consulting firm, recently had an article accepted for publication with the help of two phenomenal colleagues, in a National Journal.  Along with Dr. Barbara Zwadyk and Dr. Tina Johnson, “Selecting Top-of-the-Class Teachers for an Alternative Principals Preparation Program” was accepted by the Journal of the National Association for Alternative Certification.

Dr. James Davis, CEO for our consulting firm, recently had a chapter published in a book.  The book was titled, Advice for Beginning Teachers: Educators’ Letters to Their Younger Selves.  This is an excellent and unique resource for teachers and was published internationally by Kendall/Hunt Publishing:  IA.


Mary Newsome, a professional development leader with Professional Development Squared was recently named a prestigious member of the 2017-18 STANDOUT Class by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in Charlotte, NC.  This is an extraordinary award that  recognizes the city’s most active and engaged professionals and philanthropists under the age of forty.

Gretchen, owner of Always A Lesson, is currently providing professional development to teachers nationwide in the use of Doug Lemov's Teach Like a Champion techniques, specifically in areas such as classroom management and effective lesson design. Most recently, Gretchen accepted invitations to present to North Carolina educators at the Connecting Communities of Education Stakeholders (CCES) Conference under the theme of "Fostering Innovation Across Our State"  as well as at the North Carolina Association for Middle Level Education (NCMLE) Conference in areas of designing learning experiences of high engagement and discourse. 

Dr. James Davis, CEO for our consulting firm, recently had two articles accepted for publication with NCMLE.  The two articles accepted were “How Superintendents, District Leaders, and School Principals Build Trust to Positively Impact Student Achievement” and “Being A Change Agent at the Middle School Level.”  Our firm is grateful for a meaningful partnership with NCMLE.
